Video Games

I can say that I'm realy good at playing video games. I like two kinds of video games which are racing car(GT4) and sports(PES and NBA life). Playing these game just likes doing a competition. You need practice before you play with your friends. I think that play these kinds of video games can help to build good relationship among friends. Some games, such as CS, can help you to grow the ability of team work. The examples of video game which I have given are just cost half hour to play once time. So these games don't cost you too much time. If you want try, I can set up the games on your computer. Have fun!

The Experience of Research Paper and Presentation

No matter I did well or not, it is a very good experience for me.
First, it is the first time to do the research paper. When I was doing it, I found that it is much harder than I thought. Now I know that I forget to put two ideas which are buses and metros in my research. These two public transport should be the two basic part of my research paper. But I made a mistake that I pay attention the two transportation which is not important. Any way, I think that this research paper is a good experience for me to practice my English and the ability to do the research. More important, I also got a alarm which told me that studying in university is not a easy job, and I realy need make a great efforts to get the success in Concordia.
Second, personally, I feel that my preaentation is just so so. The same problem as my research paper that I didn't focus on the buses and metros. I realy want to give ideas of green public transport to my readers and audiences, and let them know that there are many kinds of public transports, not just buses and metros.
At last I want think to my teachers Maeley and Scott. Thinks for the help from them.

Chinexe population problem

Chian has the third largest territory, but at same time, almost 1/4 world population is in China. Most of populaitin are living in the eastron of China.
Chinese government is using family planning to control to population booming. Only a child is allow to be born in every family, or you need pay a lot of extra taxation.
With the development of Chinese socitey and medicine, people living much longer than before. To support retired people is becoming a big problem for Chinese, because the population of retired people is huge and most of them didn't have their pension.

The Book Review of The Godfather

I think that The Godfather is one of the best novels I read. This book really shocked me at first, because the plot in this novel is full by violence and sex. The way they fixed the problem in their “business” made me to come out the goose bumps. But the more I read, the more I was attracted to it. The story of novel itself was organized in a flashback style. I think that the start of the novel rang true, and it helps reader to get a feeling that all the things in the book are real. I like the Climax of the novel, which is Michael went to a restaurant and killed Sollozzo. But I don’t like the ending of the story. If I were Michael, I would choose to leave and go with Kay to a place where nobody knows me. I know it is impossible, because there is no safe place in the Mafia world. Personally, I got thinking from the novel, which is about the environment changing us. In the story, at first, Michael didn’t want touch his family “business”, at the end, he became a new Godfather. His father was shot; His brother was murdered; Even if he run away back to Italy, he still saw that his wife was died by a boom. Everything happened was made him changing. Unfortunately, what we can get from our parents is just physical characteristics, so we need learn our environment (society) from zero. In some situations, we cannot choose “fight of flight”, so what we can do?

Different goals of communication between men and women

The goals of communication are different between men and women because there are different ways to talk. Generally, men’s communication is more like individuals in a hierarchical social order in which they are either one-up or one-down (Deborah Tannen’s book). In other words, the men are dominant and want to be more independent than women. For men, they try to use conversation to achieve their goals and protect themselves. So they put the others down and push them around. Men’s communication is like a contest to put them in high position and avoid failure. For women, their communication is like individuals in a network of connections. Women’s goals of communication are try to seek and give confirmation and get help from the others, and to reach consensus. They want to get a good relationship between each other. So they use the close way to talk with each other that we call intimacy. They always share their feelings for each other and avoid isolation.Women achieve the high position and avoid failure, but there are not their goals that they always focus, they tend to guise themselves. For men also, to achieve involvement and to avoid isolation is the goal, but they are not focused on them, and they will use direct way to express their opinion. For example, women usually use “we, and apologize words” during their conversation, but men usually use “I or in my opinion” and they never apologize. So everyone needs both intimacy and independence whoever she or he is, but women tend to focus on intimacy and men on the independence and domination. That’s the goals of communication differ between men and women.

How to build vacubulary

In this essay, I want intorduce "Hermann Ebbinghaus forgetting curve",which is really helpful for us to remember new words.You want to remember something you need kown how we forget.

Hermann Ebbinghaus discover the cycle of our memory. In his research, he found that there is a discipline about how long we will forget new words.

The research shows that we are easy to foget a word which is we first, but when we meet the wors again,we can remember longer,at the third time we remember much longer.

So the more times we meet a word, the longer we can remenber it.

Hermann Ebbinghaus also discover the most affectional time for us to remember a new word.
After you meet a new word,if you can remeet the word 20mins later, 1 hour later, 5 hours later 1 day later 3 days later, 1 week later, and 5 weeks later.You can remember this word in your life.
